The day I shot the Qutub Minar was the day the Ayodhya verdict was being announced. People were warned to stay off the street, schools were closed early, and I was given a strict warning to get back to the hostel by afternoon. Well I did, and then restlessness hit by evening. Didn't want to to waste a day in the city by staying indoors. So a friend and I decided we would go sightseeing anyway and reached the Qutub Minar just as daylight was dying. I'm kind of glad we went so late because I managed to get some great night shots of it. The airport is close by to the place and there are planes flying by every now and then. The shot above shows an airplane's path through the sky at 25s shutter speed.

nice!!! ... it kindda looks like a shooting star :P
Absolutely fantastic shot Aamina! Somehow the line the plane creates distracts me a little bit and disturbs my focus on the more salient features, but that's just me. Still a splendid shot!
Brilliant shot! :D Love the dots that the plane lights have made, took me a while to figure out that they must've been blinking! :D
I love the colours present, the contrasting green in comparin to the bright sun... and as a pilot i love the shot of the plane eith the contrails....
stunninggg!
Aamina Aamina - I feel that was one of the most loveliest things you could have done that day... Love the shot, the streak that the flight left simply gorgeous ... wish you could have cut out that light in bottom left ... a lil crop .. its kinda in the eye ... nonetheless a lovely shot!
this is WOW but i cant help but focus on the 'you went out even though it was DANGEROUS part'.
AAMINA.
Very, very sexy picture!
The authority allowed you to take the Tripod?
@ Shiv,
Did not use a tripod. Balance the camera on my raincoat on top of some stones.
